Our organization is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to disaster preparedness management through education, training, and community resilience. As part of this mission, we operate NPA Outdoors, a specialized initiative designed to equip individuals with both foundational and advanced survival skills applicable in classroom-based instruction and real-world field environments. Through structured curricula, participants gain practical competencies in shelter construction, water purification, knot tying, land navigation, first aid, foraging, and general bushcraft techniques that are essential for operating effectively in emergency and austere conditions.
NPA Outdoors emphasizes experiential learning through both individual and group-based participation, fostering skills that extend beyond technical proficiency. Our courses are intentionally designed to promote collective sense-making, strengthen social trust, and build group cohesion—critical human factors in effective disaster preparedness and response. By cultivating these qualities alongside practical survival skills, NPA Outdoors helps prepare individuals and communities to respond adaptively, collaboratively, and confidently in the face of disruption and disaster.
